Garden to Table

When I felt the soft soil in my hands I knew excitement was coming. It was Tuesday morning and it was the day of our first Garden to Table session...  (Shared class story starter)

Room 16's Garden to Table session yesterday was a huge success. Thank you to all the parent helpers and specialists for making everything run so smoothly. We are really excited about our next session on the 18th of March. Please let me know if you would be interested in helping. Have a look at all of the wonderful things we did yesterday :)

Week 4

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful hot weather on Saturday. Today Room 16 walked down to the St Martins Bowling Club and got to practise the skills and techniques they have been learning over the past couple of weeks. Photos will be up soon. Thank you to all the parent helpers and Mr Wilson for giving up your time to join us.

Reminders:

Tomorrow is our first session for 'Garden to Table.' Please make sure students have sunblock on and have their hat at school. If any students have allergies please let me know.

School will be closing at 12.30pm on Wednesday due to the Year 4 goal setting conferences. The Year 4's in Room 16 have been working hard on getting their goals set. Bookings are online. I look forward to seeing you there.

Next Monday (Week 5) is a teachers only day. We will be having professional development in literacy.

Week 3

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a great weekend. We have lots of exciting events happening this term, so please remember to check notices and this blog for updates. Homework will be going out on Tuesday (due to activities all day). Please see the notice regarding this. 

Room 16 will be participating in Garden to Table next Tuesday (February 25th) from 8.45-11.30pm. Please contact me if you are interested in helping out. 

We are really lucky to have Sports Canterbury working with the Year 3-4 syndicate each day this week.

Welcome to 2014

Welcome back to the start of a new year. Term 1 is going to be full of exciting opportunities including Garden to Table, making movies, Ferrymead etc.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been settling down into our class routines and expectations. 

Just a reminder that the meet the teacher evening is tomorrow evening starting at 6.30pm in the school hall. Also if you are able to help with any Garden to Table work please let me know.
