Christmas Shoe Box Diorama

Yes, we're doing this very popular homework challenge again this year! This is a fun project to make a Christmas shoebox diorama depicting a Christmas scene.

To begin, you will need to scout around for a shoebox (or something similar). Then help your child create a Xmas scene in a box eg. Santa's workshop, animal scene etc.

It would be great to have all the boxes on display in the class for the beginning of Week 9-10 December. Check out Google: Christmas Diorama- images for some simple cool ideas.

'How to grow your own salt crystal'

This term Room 16 has been learning about instructional writing. We worked together to grow a salt crystal and we discussed the process and steps we went through. Students then designed a 'How to grow your own salt crystal' recipe book, featuring the ingredients, instructions (method) and a diagram. Some students also presented their work orally. Listen to Finn Howard's salt crystal recipe.
